Art is what being discovered and reproduced. Such idea lies in the writer’s perspective and helps present epic events of an individual in the form of reproduction. In that sense, each different event in my life is expressed in sequence until reaching the end, ‘meta-narrative’ (epic events found in the human history and conceived as a truth). Just as a huge epic event of the mankind piled up with a number of people’s stories, it is not just about sharing things with the audience but also inviting them into a story of a book toward over-lapping meta-narrative by diverse interpretations. Such narrative is unfolded in a different way: representation within re-contracture photo-collages, reproduced performance, installing an actual space for it, a performance video clip and collage-painting to reproduce a virtual space beyond the real one.

Intro
예술(Art)는 존재한 것들의 발견이고 재현이다, 라는 작가관에 입각하여 재현(Mimesis)으로서의 개인의 서사를 보여준다.
(본인)개인의 서사는 메타내러티브 (인간사에서 발견된 진리로서의 거대서사)에 이르기까지를 시퀀스 구성방식으로 표현한다. 수많은 개인의 이야기가 누적되어 인류의 거대서사를 형성 하듯이 단순히 본인의 사적인 이야기를 노출 하는것에 지나지 않고 관객의 이야기들과 함께 소통, 해독의 중첩이 되는 메타내러티브를 향한 한권의 이야기속으로 관객을 ‘초대’ 한다. 이러한 각각의 내러티브는 직조된 포토꼴라쥬의 재현방식, 혹은 연출된 재현, 혹은 그 공간을 실 공간으로 제작하는 설치 재현의 방법으로, 때론 재현하는 퍼포먼스 영상으로, 그리고 현실너머의 가상의 공간을 재현 하기 위해 꼴라쥬 페인팅으로 표현한다.

Narrative/ Nomadic한 삶의 여정.
다양한 이유로 본인은 광주라는 한 지역안에서 조차도 수 많은 이동의 삶을 살았다. 그리고 대전에서 그다음은 러시아로 어린시절의 기억들은 ‘이동’에 관한 것이었다. 이동과 정착 이것이 반복되는 삶 가운데 생겨진 습관은 계약을 맺지 않으려는 것이며, 1평 남짓되는 정도의 공간을 만족해 하며 부피가 큰 것은 되도록 구매하지 않는 쪽으로 결정하며 살아왔다. 언제든지 시나리오에 따른, 현 가상의 생활을 접고 다음 공간으로의 이동에 반응할 준비가 되어있었다. 그렇게 언제나 삶은 여행이고 모험의 연속 이듯, 뉴욕으로 그리고 다시 런던으로 흘러가게 되었다. 예술가의 삶으로 살아가면서 나의 작업에 관한 것을 뒤돌아 볼때, 수많은 이동에 의해 생성된 삶의 단편들의 모음 이라는 것을 발견 하였다. 그뒤부터는‘이동’에 관한 이야기를 조명하기 시작했다.
Narrative / Nomadic (a journey in my life)
I had to move from place to place many times even inside this relatively small city, Gwangju for many reasons. Then, I went to Dae-jeon and a bit far to Russia. So, my childhood was all about ‘move’. As it repeatedly happened to me, I became naturally hesitant to sign a contract with anyone and comfortable staying in a space of 1 Pyong or 3.30 square meters not trying to bring in anything big to the room. In other words, I always got ready to leave a place whenever I had to. So, my life was a series of journey and became adventurous, leading me into New York and then London. Whenever I stop to look back to think about my job as artist, every each tiny piece of my life was found created upon those moves. I have begun to pin much of focus on it since I realized it.

우리가 ‘이동’ 하면서 만나는 시간과 공간들 그리고 이야기들은 가상의 ‘정착’ 속에서 만나는 것들이다. 이 이야기들을 재현하기 위한 연출된 화면구성(포토꼴라쥬)부터 시뮬라시옹으로서의 공간을 만들기까지 확장 되었다.

Things reproduced in my work are to reproduce pure aspects of an image and things that are imaginary as a simulation. Photographing an individual’s time, purposely re-arranging screen shots (Photo-collages) and showing an actual-sized space (Installation) can be a reproduction imaginary for a real one (Idea)

메타내러티브의 첫번째 챕터로서 ‘Heavenly Nomad’를 시작으로 – ‘Daily Grave’까지의 이야기를 다룬다. 이 두가지의 테마는 ‘이동’에관한 내러티브이다. ‘Place to Place’의 장소간 이동에 관한 것에서 부터, ‘Space to Space’로의 공간간 이동을 이야기한다. 해븐리노마드는 전지적 작가시점에 의해 계획된 시나리오같은 이동을 이야기 하며, 불각시에 찾아오는 매일의 이동에 빗대어 제시한다. 또한, 잇따르는 ‘Daily Grave’, 죽음 이라는 소재는 인류의 거대서사로서 수많은 이야기들을 하나로 묶는다. 나의 수많은 이동들이 종국에 맞는 죽음으로의 이동에 귀결 됨을 이야기한다. 단절된 공간인 동시에 이데아를 향한 전환 지점(spot)인 무덤은 이데아를 향한 완전한 ‘이동’의 끝을 상징한다. 장소간 이동이 모호하고 계획한 바대로 흘러왔던 것이 아닌것처럼, 죽음과 공간간의 '이동'또한 매일 마주하는 우리의 초상(初喪)은 변하지않는 거대서사로서 인류의 초상(肖像) 인 것이다.
To begin with, it goes with a chapter, ‘Heavenly Nomad’ and ends with ‘Daily Grave’. Those two are about ‘move’, a story that talks about from ‘place to place’ to ‘space to space’. The first theme is a story about much expected and scheduled moves from an omniscient viewpoint as they make an unforeseen visit on daily basis. Under the following theme, death lets all kinds of stories in the human history come down to one. It means that all of moves I make are translated into a passage towards death. A grave understood as an isolated space and spot towards an idea symbolizes the end of those moves. ‘Move’ in between death and space and our daily facing is a portrait of humankinds, just like move between spaces going ambiguous and unpredicted.
